How We Protect Our Patients with COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Committed to Your Health and Safety at MRCP

At Medical Rehabilitation Centers of Pennsylvania (MRCP), we are committed to providing our patients with essential health services despite the current state of COVID-19. During the pandemic, our clinic remains open to provide patients with physical therapy treatments in person, while following strict safety protocols outlined by CDC recommendations and guidelines. As always, your health and wellness remain our top priority.

How We Deliver a Safe and Healthy Treatment Experience during COVID-19

If you are injured or need help dealing with a certain physical condition, you may be wondering if it’s safe to go to a physical therapy clinic right now. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to maintain a safe and clean environment to protect our patients, physical therapists and other members of staff against the spread of COVID-19.

  • Patient and Clinician Health Screenings: One of the best ways to prevent transmission is to stop a potential infection from entering the building. We do so by screening all patients and staff before they enter the facility by asking a few simple questions regarding their possible exposure to the virus as well as perform regular temperature checks.
  • Enforcing Mandatory PPE: We require masks to be worn by every therapist and patient as well as anyone else who enters our facility unless you are unable to wear one due to medical reasons. Cloth or disposable surgical masks are acceptable and must be worn properly, covering the mouth and nose at all times.
  • Ensure Social Distancing: In addition to wearing proper PPE, we are limiting the number of people who can be in the facility at the same time, in order to ensure everyone has enough space to maintain social distance. To reduce congestion in our waiting areas, we ask that you wait outside until you are called in for your appointment and have made every effort to accommodate seniors and other at-risk groups by scheduling them into lower-traffic appointment times.
  • Promote Proper Hygiene: We encourage staff and patients to frequently wash their hands as well as sanitize throughout the day and during each appointment. In addition to making sure your hands are clean, we also take extra time between each appointment to sterilize all high-touch surfaces with medical-grade disinfectant.

Pandemic or not, our physical therapy services are here to stay. For over 40 years, MRCP has been focused on delivering the best possible care to patients with an emphasis on health and safety. Given the nature of the novel coronavirus, we are constantly adapting our practices to help curb transmission. However, patients can still expect the same quality of services delivered by our licensed physical therapists that are designed to provide significant improvements or resolutions for your particular condition. While we are approaching physical therapy from an entirely new lens, our additional safety protocols and highly monitored schedule have ensured our patient care policies are always up-to-date and also allowed for us to deliver a more personalized treatment program for you.
